The largest and the most populated County and city in kenya, Nairobi, is experiencing the most difficult moments. This is because of the heavy rain that has rained for the past two days. The rain has so far claimed 14 lives and very many people injured. It has also affected the operations of many businesses in the city.
Due to poor drainage and impoper dumping of waste, the heavy downpour has left the city flooded causing too much chaos. Lastnight the residents were stuck in bus stations due to crazy traffic and high transport charges.
This forced some people to risk their lives and walk to their houses. Two people were carried away by water and lost their lives. Two more people also lost their lives after their vehicle was carried away by the water.
A six storey building collapsed at huruma and so far seven people have been confirmed dead and others seriously injured. The police and redcross are still at the scene trying to find out if still there are people stuck in the collapsed building.
This has left Soo many Kenyans blaming the county and national government for sleeping on their jobs. Poor roads with no drainage systems, construction of building without observing the required standards and no one questions. The government should advise this issue to avoid the damage being experienced now.
