The weather forecasters had given a warning that heavy and destructive rain (Elnino) is going to be experienced this rainy season. Some took the caution and made some protective plans while took it as a joke and did nothing.

The government also reserved some money to cater for emergencies and prepare for heavy rains. The money was meant for repairing the drainage systems, relocating those on dangerous areas to other
places, providing safety measures for those affected by rains and many more purposes.

This has not been the Case since the rain started. We have experienced poor drainage systems in many areas in the country. Many Kenyans have been left homeless due to their houses being destroyed by rains, others have also lost their loved ones. During examinations some students were unable to do their examinations on time due to the bridges being carried away by water.
