Babu Owino Set to Hold A Birthday Party worth sh14.4million.

He is the most influential and the best leader Kenyan universities have so far. People know him by his powerful stands that he makes while helping university students. Meanwhile the SONU president Babu Owimo is set to throw a birthday party on 10th October worth sh14.4million.

What many of us are left asking is the venue of this party. He is proposing that the party be held at KICC grounds, carnivore, around the university or any other place where there will be a big place which will fit the expected turnout.

He has invited foreign guests including preachers and the best Djs and artists will also be there. In his budget he has spent a lot of money on whiskey and other vodka for more than half a million each. He has also hired more than 100 bouncers, more than 30 girls yo serve as ushers. The story about the Mollis audio was the talk of the town last weekend. Infact this story was forgotten after Arsenal lost their game yesterday. For those who may be still in darkness, this name Mollis (Morris) became famous after a certain audio spread on whatsapp and finally on almost all social media platforms of Morris doing it with a lady who after sometimes started complaining that she go tired.

Some concluded that morris was good at it but others even insisted that this guy should be prosecuted since this turned out to be arape case after the girl started complaining that she was very tired and she has surrendered. She is a gospel musician who is well known for her songs like Facebook, Utamu wa yesu and many more. A few months ago Rose Muhando accused of abortion by the media. In Tanzania this is a crime that can get you jailed for more than Five years. These allegations went viral until most of us believed that this was true because Rose Muhando remained silent about it. Today Rose Muhando was interviewed on Radio Citizen during the Pambazuka show. Syombua (who hosts the pambazuka show) asked her about the issue of abortion and she made everything clear. She said that She is a mother of three children and so she is not afraid of getting pregnant or being a mother since she is one. What she fears most is to sin. Finally she said that she failed to respond to the issue since she remains silent on media issues. If you believed that she had aborted now you know the truth even though no one knows if its true or no. But we should leave this to the final Judge who knows all our actions.

Take for instance, during president Uhuru inauguration ceremony when he was sworn in as the Kenyan president. almost all the east African presidents attended the ceremony. As we speak now Us security forces are on the Kenyan grounds conducting investigations for the safety of their president. HI-TECH air-crafts have already landed in Kenya. The took the most part of yesterday to survey the land and ensure that there is total security in the country. They flew around Nairobi and many people were very angry because of the disruptions they caused. later, the landed in Kenyatta university and then went back to JKIA for parking waiting for the presidents arrival.

The Boeing V-22 Osprey which are among the planes that landed yesterday, can fly at speed which is 77 more than the ordinary chopper.

This plane is designed to flee away the US president in case of security danger.

CHUKA DRUMMERS still doing it since 1942

Since Kenya gained independence 52 years ago, entertainment has taken a great revolution with people shunning traditional dances and songs to embrace modern secular and gospel dance styles.

But Chuka Drummers have remained a darling of many who seek to be entertained by traditional beats.

The drummers have been doing their thing since 1942.

The group founded 73 years ago by the late Ndei Mutaa who hailed from Igaa Village in Meru South, Tharaka-Nithi County has entertained local and international audiences.

It is known as Mwinjiro.

According to the current group leader, Mzee Eustace Njuki, who was among the initial 10 dancers, their sole aim was to entertain the community and spread their culture through generations.

The aging Mzee Njuki recalls how the whole village would gather for entertainment especially during the harvest period and dance till dawn.

“Whenever we began drumming and dancing, the whole village would join in jubilation and people would dance to the rhythm for hours,” Mzee Njuki says.

Mzee Njuki says that during the colonial times, the group was recognised and in 1961 invited to the current Chuka Town to entertain European tourists who visited Mount Kenya through the Chogoria gate. see the premier league top fan supporters

“The whites were overwhelmed with joy and joined us in the dance while others collapsed with laughter,” said the exhausted Mzee Njuki.

In 1962, the group took their first trip outside Kenya to entertain an international leaders’ forum in Tanzania, then known as Tanganyika.

Mzee Njuki says that this was just a start as what followed was an invitation by the first president of Kenya Mzee Jomo Kenyatta to perform at State House, Nairobi.

FOREIGN TRIPS

The performance at State House served as an opener to foreign and local trips for the group.

In 1969 the group, which then comprised of 15 dancers, flew to Nigeria to entertain leaders as their fame had gone beyond East Africa.

While in Nigeria, Mzee Njuki says, they met many Europeans whom they never knew.

Two years later, one of the people they entertained from Greece invited them to perform in Athens where they stayed for two months.

“What started as local entertainment became international and those foreigners liked how we jumped and bent as we drummed rhythmically,” says Mzee Njuki who has lived to tell history.

The old man says that from Athens followed several invitations and in 1973 they visited Canada for two weeks and in 1975 they were contracted to entertain tourists at Taita Salt Lake Hotel.

He narrated how former President Daniel arap Moi developed a close relationship with the group and invited them whenever he had visitors from outside Kenya.

ENTERTAINED MOI'S GUESTS

In 1981 when Mr Moi was being inaugurated as the Chairman of the Organisation of African Union (OAU) the Chuka Drummers entertained the 42 heads of state present, among them Julius Nyerere of Tanzanian, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.

“We performed so well that Moi joined us in the dance,” says the thrilled old man as he beats his drum rhythmically.

The group normally meets for practice in Itugururu Village in Chuka.

“The costumes and songs depend on the occasion. ‘Macia’ is performed during wedding ceremonies while ‘Mugeni’ is performed to visitors,” said Mr Kenneth Ngai, he group’s secretary.

Their costumes are branded in the colours of the National flag.

Mr Ngai says this is their way of expressing their patriotisms and love for the country.

This also helps them to be easily identified as coming from Kenya whenever they perform outside the country.

“We deeply love our country and everywhere we go, we like to uplift the name of Kenya,” says Mzee Ngai.

Mr Ngai, however, complains that some people from the area and across communities have imitated their dances and songs with others even going to the extent of using their name.

He laments that those groups have ruined their reputation and they are slowly losing popularity.

“These other groups which call themselves Chuka Drummers have stolen our fame and are now going places saying they are the original Chuka Drummers,” says Mr Ngai.

He says that in the neighbouring Embu County, the Mbeere people who border them to the north have a similar dance which they call ‘Ngootha’ but they play songs similar to theirs.

The members also insist that the group at the Bomas of Kenya calling itself ‘Chuka drummers’ is not genuine.

“When you visit Bomas of Kenya you will meet another ‘Chuka Drummers’ performing there purporting to be the original group but they are an imitation,” insists Mr Ngai.

LIVING IN POVERTY

Who is Irene Stefani??

Venerable Irene Stefani (22 August 1891 - 31 October 1930), born Aurelia Mercede Stefani, was a Roman Catholic Italian nun and a member of the Consolata Missionary Sisters.
She assumed the name "Irene" upon entrance into that order.Stefani was cleared for beatification in 2014 after a miracle found to have been attributed to her intercession was ratified, and she will be beatified on 23 May 2015 in Nyeri.
[1]Biography
Aurelia Mercede S was born in 1891 inthe small village of Anfo. Stefani joined the Consolata Missionary Sisters in 1911 and became a professed member of that order in 1914 prior to the beginning of World War I. Upon entering the order, she took the name of "Irene".
That same year, she was sent by Blessed Joseph Allomano to go to Kenya, where she arrived in January 1915.
Stefani served as a nurse in Kenya and became well known and well regarded among the people that she served. This earned her the nickname "Nyaatha",  which is a name literally translated as "a person of mercy". In1930, Stefani contracted a disease off of the patients she was treating and died to this disease on 31 October 1930.
[2] Beatification
The cause of beatification commenced on 22 July 1985 and Stefani was declared a Servant of God. On 2 April 2011, Popeye Benedict- XVI declared her to have lived a life of heroic virtue and named her Venerable. On 12 June 2014, Pope Francis approved a decree that recognized a miracle attributed to Stefani's intercession which cleared the way for her beatification. It will be celebrated by Cardinal Angelo Amatoon 23 May 2015 in Nyeri.
