Teachers Strike Called Off. Teachers to Resume Classes on Monday

Its my joy and to give these good news to you. The teachers union have finally called off their strike. This is as a result of the order given by the court that teachers should end their strike within a period of 90 days.

Speaking on media, CS Wilson Sossion said that they have ended their strike but not completely. Its just for 90 day and if they will not have come to an agreement with the government about their pay, they will continue with their strike. He also said that teachers respect the court and they will do as the court ordered. The also asked that all the teachers to be paid their September salary.

It should be remembered that TSC had already announced recruitment of 70,000 teachers. Many applications had already been made. Many had hopes of being employed but their hopes have been cutoff by the end of teachers strike

Now children should prepare themselves to go back to school and continue with their education. Wilson sission has asked all the teachers to resume classes on Monday as they continue to discuss with the government about their pay.

When I was a little child I never knew too much about politics. Every time I heard this word, some certain politicians came into my mind. Now that I am a grown up and exercised my voting right for quite a long time, I have been forced to think out loud and ask myself a lot of rhetoric questions. What is this all about politics? Is this a fair game or a dirty game?

When a person enters into politics, we expect him to be super productive since he is flesh and his mind is not dilluted by the others who are still on the game. Why do I elect a certain politician? Its because his promises and manifesto convinces me that this is the person who will take the nation to the direction I want it to go. But is this what we get after elections? The person we had soo much faith in turns out to be an hypocrite. We rarely see him/her around the people. Our problems even becomes worse as he continues to add up wealth and give employment to their relative who sometimes are not even competent for the jobs given. This result to lack of developments, stealing of public money to fulfil their own interests and at the end of the day the voter who voted for you is still hungry and still crying for the government to help.

After their term of service is over the same same politicians come back to their citizens with the same same stories of better lives if they are elected. This leads me to my question if politics is a dirty game or not. Politics itself is not dirty but politicians makes it a dirty game.

If you thought for one second that receiving an education has a cutoff age, think again, because Doreetha Daniels just proved everyone wrong. At 99 years of age, Daniels has seen a lot of the world, and last week her family and friends got to see her graduate from college.

In 1999, Daniels enrolled at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif. And although she had a few setbacks, including a stroke and temporary vision loss, Daniels became the college’s oldest graduate Friday when she received her associate’s degree.Doreetha Daniels said she was inspired to go back to school to her degree after seeing her grand children pursuing their Master’s degrees. She stated that she had to work a bit harder than her classmates. After suffering a stroke, it made it hard for Doreetha to make it to class. She often had difficulties hearing her professors speak as well as problems keeping up with the classwork. But that didn’t stop her from reaching her goal. Doreetha said the younger generation should be appreciative of the opportunity to gain a higher education.

“It seems like the iPhones in their lap are sometimes more important to students than what’s going on in the classroom. I think somebody needs to say something or something needs to happen to show the younger ones how special and unique their opportunity to learn is. I understand that to earn a degree in college at age 99, that’s a bit unusual.”

After receiving her degree, Doreetha became the oldest graduate in the university’s history. Doreetha’s on-campus tutor, Liz Shaker, said that Doreetha is an inspiration for everyone. She’s proof that it’s never too late to follow your dreams no matter the challenges you may face in life.
